Will my child always have gravitational insecurity?
Not necessarily. With consistent, graded intervention during the 2–6 window, many children achieve functional integration — meaning GI no longer limits daily participation. Some children maintain mild sensitivity throughout childhood but learn effective self-regulation strategies.
Can I do this protocol without a therapist?
The home materials portion (steps 1–6) is designed for caregiver-led implementation. However, an initial OT assessment is strongly recommended to confirm the GI diagnosis, rule out otologic causes, and set the correct starting intensity level. Monthly OT check-ins during the 8-week arc improve outcomes significantly.
